Today’s modern motorbikes are far more electronically dependent….more refined, much more power but with it comes complexity and at Dragon Motorbikes we have embraced this and have the latest fault finding and diagnostics equipment from the Italian diagnostic specialists TEXA with the Navigator TXB.
This allows us to plug directly into the motorcycles on board diagnostic system through a manufacture specific port and then into the bikes wiring system to read error codes, check for faults and reset errors and monitor real time data.

Current emissions legislation means that virtually all new bikes are fitted with fuel injection with an ECU that controls numerous parameters.
From time to time this “brain” needs checking, just like any other part of the bike. It’s clever too and can store faults that it has detected which can then be evaluated when we complete our diagnostic process.
The latest additions to bikes’ electronics systems are complex CANBUS networks which integrate individual electronic systems (fuel-injection, CO adjustment, immobiliser, fault codes, service lamps, ABS) – even scooter manufacturers use CAN systems now.
The Dragon Motorbikes Navigator TXB uses Windows IDC4 software with Bluetooth connection between the bike and PC making connectivity simple.
With the Navigator TXB it is possible to read and erase error messages, check system parameters, reset service warning lights, adjust fuelling, perform active tests and much more. Coupled with the two Fuch Dynos we really are unique in the North East when it comes to getting to the route of your bikes fault.
The PC software includes additional features like wiring diagrams and video information showing diagnostic connection locations etc and much more. A further feature of the IDC4 software is the ability to store diagnostic information from the vehicle and save this using the registration number. This enables us to recall the bike’s data, previous service information and test results at a later date thus saving valuable labour time and saving you money.
We are aiming to be an alternative to main dealer offering a flexible dynamic approach to fault finding and mixing this with many of the other services that we are able to provide you.
The (live) faults and the components that they relate to then have to be checked sometimes with a lab scope to test that they are operating and at the level it/they should and in many cases there’s more than one fault . In addition visual checks are undertaken along with road and dyno tests as and when deemed necessary.
Even when this has been completed, wiring circuits etc might need checking.
We have 2 Rolling Roads…when many garages don’t even have a fax machine !…what on earth can they hope to achieve…..
