Optimise your bike to the with our advanced ECU Flashing products

So why would you choose a Dragon Map

Screenshot

With our Dragon Maps, we have access to all the ECU control areas. We can also alter the ignition timing as well as  fuelling throughout the rev range, de-restrict the lower gears, as a lot of bikes are restricted in the first 3 gears to prevent the rider getting too much power causing excessive wheelieing, we can even adjust what temperature your bikes cooling fan kicks in and much more.

As many of you will be discovering the newer bikes on the market are producing huge performance reserves and have extremely complex mapping which will not tolerate modifications well such as exhaust system etc. Many of them are not that great to ride with lots of fuelling issues set to pass emissions standards.

At Dragon Motorbikes we custom map each individual Motorcycles ECU software to achieve the optimum performance of the bike, as each motorcycle hasn’t got identical characteristics.

The most common question we get is ‘how much extra power will I get?’

Every bike is different, with a different “recipe” Two identical looking bikes will often put out very different power, as they will have been run in differently, ridden differently, maintained differently.  Also factory tolerances aren’t small enough to make every engine identical, so even two brand new bikes can put out different power and torque.

So what can be achieved then?

For a 600cc sports bike about 4 – 8 bhp

For a 750cc sports bike about 5-9 bhp

For a 1000cc sports bike about -12 bhp

Of course we don’t quote exact figures however what we can say is that owners are happy with the results we have achieved because its not just about power…in fact whilst this is always the headline pub talk its throttle response, refinements and torque that owners rave about.

We aim to get a smooth power curve, with increased BHP and torque, and a bike that rides better with a really good, smooth power delivery. You’ll get extra horsepower, which most people are hoping for, but you’ll get a bike back with a great midrange that is much more usable too.

Many modern motorbikes run incredibly lean mixtures and huge advance settings to achieve emissions, so it’s no surprise that many have snatchy throttles which can become intolerable when an exhaust system is fitted.  For example you close the throttle on a bike, going into a corner, and the injectors will fully close.  You start to re-open the throttle accelerating out of the corner, but there’s a delay as it takes a moment for the injectors to open again and the fuel to get through, resulting in a what we call “Kangaroo petrol” not nice is it ?.

Solution?

With our Dragon Map we are able to adjust the injectors so that they remain open 20%, when you close the throttle meaning that fuel keeps flowing slightly off throttle and the power comes in smoother and quicker when you throttle back on again. Softening the ignition settings on R1s for example allows us to improve this area also and there are many other examples. In short motorbike ECU are becoming more and more complex controlling more and more systems. They are NOT optimised for pure riding enjoyment of refinement…it’s a BIG compromise which isn’t something we have to factor in.
